Join us for our first 5 day event, co-hosted by the new Shieling Collective in celebration of the festival of Bealltainn. This will be an opportunity to experience the wide variety of offerings that we will continue to offer throughout the year, including Traditional skills; Land-based lifeways; Scottish culture, stories and song; Practices for holistic wellbeing; and tangible steps towards reclaiming our Indigenous Gaelic culture.
We will engage with, practice and dream-in together the old life-ways which are true to our ancestors and the natural cycles ~ e.g butter making, fibre-craft, teine-éiginn/friction fire, mythology, ceilidh culture, foraging and more. We will also be exploring decolonial & pre-colonial mindsets, reflecting upon aswell as enacting how we can tangibly return & restore cultural practices, traditions, ecological & community resilience today.
We will weave the practical and the spiritual, historical and the emergent culture of today - co-creating with the landscape and the ancestors, with hands and heart.
Together we come together at this turning of the Wheel, to celebrate, to attune to and remember the natural cycles of life. We offer this as a remedy for the times that we live in, as an offering of prayer & reclamation in practice. We invite each of those who are called, to add your branch to this ancestral fire that we stoke - ensuring that these life ways live on through us - and hopefully that we can contribute to the changing of the tides of culture today.
This is a reminder that all has not been lost, although it could have been if left any longer. It is time to blow on the embers, to stoke the ancient fires of these lands.
